Illuminate: Kearney Christian Writers Group

Mission/purpose:
The Christian Writers Focus Group is intended to equip, encourage, and enhance the Christian writer in the Kearney community while seeking God’s will for each individual writer. The goal of the KCW is to illuminate God’s Word through our platforms, to serve our community, and expand our influence while cultivating the light of Christ.

We will offer several workshops, tips and tools to refine your style of writing from blogging, fiction, nonfiction, curriculum, essays, and commentary as well as exercises to develop solid writing habits to bring Glory to God and make your readers eager for more.

In addition to enhancing our craft, we will also dive into God’s Word – our sole inspiration, our only source, and our ambition in writing – in order to seek God’s will and God’s instruction for Christian writers. We will encourage each other through prayer, discussion, troubleshooting, and critiques.

About the Leaders:
The group is led by Kristin Remm and Heather Riggleman. Both have passion for Christ's Word and writing. Kristin is a  blogger who is passionate about the gospel and a passion for ministry. She currently leads a women’s group of all ages on Tuesday mornings. The mission of her blog Walk On Water is to encourage, motivate and inspire others to be eternally focused on Jesus Christ.

Heather Riggleman, is a co-founder of Her View From Home, author, free lance writer and former journalist. Her passion is to encourage writers to use their life experiences combined with God’s Word to be a voice in the community. Heather’s work recently took third in the nation for her columns about Christ and mental health.
